We had an excellent 2nd day at Steppin' Out. We managed to do a really nice two part day, with a meal and a nap in the middle, and thus miss the majority of the massive rainstorm (which seems to be becoming a daily occurrence in Blacksburg...).
We began with some of the kid-related booths.
This local lady makes awesome felt food for creative kid play. And she set up a free play table! Bless her.

| Here I model the noodle necklace, an appreciation gift from Miles. My first craft gift! |
Next, we stopped by the NRV varmints dog corral. Highly recreational for both the dogs and the watching children.
A few of the vendors. I mean, a teeeny sample. You really ought to just visit us for Steppin Out next year.

| Play weaponry. Marshmallow guns, swords, etc. |
| Crafty upcycles. Birdfeeders. |
| Wooden toys. We hit this one up every year. Picked one up for Adele this year. |
| Fab knit hats |
| Gorgeous handmade furniture. |
| One of several Hokiebird mascots was out and about. |
| We let Adele have some frolic time out of the carrier. |
| She waves now. And claps. And OWNS MY HEART. |

See?
| Not sure how this recycled dress helped the environment, but it sure got attention for her booth. |
| What monsoon? What? Nothing happened here. |
| Clapping for the bluegrass with big brother. |
We did it stroller free in the afternoon, and it was SO much better that way! Strollers can be very useful things, but I hadn't realized how much ours was bumming me out until we ditched it. We could cut through a crowd like nobody's business. And when Miles got tired on the walk home, we got out the sling for Adele and Miles got to be hoisted home.

| Hooray for a 40 lb weight limit! |
Steppin' Out is one of our last summer hurrahs. I return to work in less than a week.
More on that later.
Well done, Adele! You'll find that those hands are gonna come in handy in the months and years ahead!
