Reasons that I wish I had a camera today

1. The Irises are up at Price House, and they're very near peak. They're about 2 weeks further along than they were last year, and they are screaming to be photographed before they once again become a series of identical stalks.
2. Miles can write his name more legibly and recognizably every day. Most of the time, now, he even writes it in the right direction. I need to show him off!
3. I want to document the carnage in our front yard. Our front yard has been transformed into a field of tree carnage, since our landlord's tree man apparently decided that the Front Yard Tree was fatally injured/ill and must be dismantled.
We are a family in mourning. I wish to write a suitable tribute, but I want a picture to commemorate. Until then, I'm trying to figure out a way to make black armbands to fit the kids.
I'm only exaggerating the mourning a little. I was already fighting tears watching our big gorgeous maple being (as it seemed to me) ruthlessly slaughtered, and then Miles had to go and say "Good bye, tree. You are my friend."
4. My kids are still really cute.

I'm not sure what the plan is for removing the Tree's remains, but I hope they leave us something to remember him by. I'll photograph it with the camera that Jon is ordering today, which will probably arrive some time next week.

  1. I audibly exhaled when I read about the new camera! :) Not that I'm invested in updates of your beautiful family or anything!
