Independence

The day before we left for Rochester, we enjoyed a Classic Blacksburg 4th of July

I marched in the Coalition for Justice portion of the parade. The kids feasted their eyes on awesome vehicles and real horses!

We got down to the lawn early to hear the community band and to get fireworks parking...
...only to have to give up that parking spot when Miles spontaneously vomited all he'd eaten all over me. We think, maybe, he's allergic to plums? Anyway, I know you all come here for the refined and elegant imagery. How about me carrying Miles in a blanket across a huge swath of the town park in front of hoardes of townies, both of us covered in vomit and with Adele trailing behind us, barefoot and eating out of a massive bag of kettle corn? Enjoy.

Well, I got him (and me) bathed off, drove to the closest parking space available (around 3/4 mile away) and strollered us back from the car, determined as Miles was to make the 'works. He made a miraculous recovery in the bath, of course.

We made it back just in time.

Miles is still pretty sure the sky is falling.

The next morning, bright and early, we started driving! I've been getting good use of my camera since we got to Rochester...
